Good heavens, is the Medbury centenary so close? I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Notable teachers at the time were Steve Scott and Bill Scannell. Studies in French and Latin meant that when I went on to Christ’s College I, with several other Medburians, was promoted from the entry third form to the fourth form. In my last year I was in the Rugby XV. They must have been very short of players to include me!

My son was at Medbury and we live in Gisborne now. I think they were his happiest schooldays to date!! He loved the camaraderie, the sports and the whole spirit!

Medbury gave me much more than just a solid educational foundation, it gave me the opportunity to build lifelong friendships, confidence to experience all that life will bring and an understanding of how to ‘play the game’.

Medbury Old Boy, 1985 – 1993
Medbury Chair, 2021 – Current

Generation after generation of Medbury boys, along with staff and domestic staff, look forward with excitement, gratitude and affection to the school’s centenary next year and I share their pride in contributing to such a fine school.
